Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Stockly: Home Inventory ("Stockly", "we", "our") collects, stores, and uses data when you use the app.

Last updated: 2026-03-23

1) What data we process

Account and authentication data

  • Firebase Authentication account information (Google sign-in or anonymous account).
  • Technical user identifier required to separate your cloud data from other users.

Inventory data (cloud, Firestore)

  • Storages (name, type, notes, timestamps).
  • Products and stock counts per storage.
  • Stock entries (added date, optional expiry date per unit).
  • Shopping rules (starred products and optional low-stock threshold).

Local-only data (on your device)

  • Storage background thumbnails/images selected by you.
  • Theme preference and certain local UI states.
Storage background images are stored locally on device and are not uploaded to Firestore by Stockly.

2) Why we use data

  • To provide core inventory features (storages, products, entries, search, shopping list).
  • To sync your data across sessions/devices when you are signed in.
  • To enable account-related actions (sign-in, sign-out, account linking, account deletion).
  • To support premium and ads logic (show/hide ads according to subscription status).

3) Ads and premium subscriptions

AdMob ads

Stockly may display banner and interstitial ads through Google AdMob for non-premium users. Ad partners may process device identifiers and ad-related telemetry under their own policies.

Google Play Billing subscription

Premium subscriptions are handled by Google Play Billing. When premium is active, Stockly can reduce or remove ads according to app behavior.

Subscription purchase, cancellation, and billing records are managed by Google Play. Uninstalling the app does not automatically cancel your subscription.

4) Data retention and deletion

Delete account and data in-app

In Settings, you can use Delete account and all data. After confirmation, the app attempts to:

  • Delete your Stockly Firestore data (storages, products, entries, related documents).
  • Delete your authenticated account from Firebase Authentication.

Sign out

You can sign out in Settings. Signing out does not automatically delete your cloud data.

Anonymous to Google linking

If you start anonymously, you can later sign in with Google and link/continue your data under that account.

5) Data loss and service limitations

We aim to provide reliable sync and persistence, but no cloud/mobile system can guarantee perfect availability. Network issues, device problems, third-party outages, or account changes can affect data availability or timing.

To the extent permitted by law, Stockly is provided "as is" without warranty of uninterrupted service. You are responsible for your own backup/export strategy for critical information.

6) Security

We use platform and Firebase mechanisms intended to protect data in transit and storage. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure.

7) Children and legal compliance

Stockly is not specifically directed to children under the age required by local law. If you believe personal data was provided unlawfully, please contact us to request review and deletion.

8) Your choices and rights

  • You can edit or delete inventory content inside the app.
  • You can sign out, link accounts, and request full account/data deletion in Settings.
  • You can manage subscription status in Google Play subscription settings.
